Worlds Maps Finished, Bird Gym Updated, & Ultima Online Outlands


It has been a little while since the last update, but I promise we will make it to the finish line (we're so close)!


World Maps Finished

Previously, the world maps were just place holders with roads and level markers. I've updated each world map to reflect the theme of the world/levels!



Bird Gym Finished

The foundational work was there for the bird gym, but there was still some work to be done. Now you get a message after collecting all the shiny feathers, letting you know that the Bird Gym has been unlocked. This required adding some additional tracking between worlds to account for all the shiny feathers being collected. Finally, the place holder art was replaced with success/fail animations (thanks to my wife!).


Ultima Online Outlands

I never thought in 2024/2025, I would find myself addicted to another MMO, especially an older one like Ultima Online! I came across a shard called Outlands and it feels like what I would have expected a UO2 to look like. I am part of a thieves guild and having way too much fun snooping into people's pockets! 

Aside from being slow at art, this addiction accounts for the large gap between the last dev log and this one.

Bug Fixes/QoL

  • Fixed package placement on level 6-1
  • Added level gates on world map (previously only added in world 1)
  • Tutorial Updated.
  • Poo mini game sometimes started scrolling prior to timer starting.

Future

We are at the final stretch and there will likely be only one more devlog before catalog submission. Here is what the to-do list looks like:

  • Waiting on cover/launch animation art that I had commissioned.
  • Maybe update title screen?
  • Options Menu.
  • 2 additional mini games.
  • Small list of bugs.
  • Wrapping paper.
